DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT CENTER
HOPE AND
SERENITY
At Hope and Serenity Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center we
base our practices on the belief that each person is an individual.
Their addiction is individual, the underlying reason(s) for their
addiction is individual and therefore their alcohol and drug treatment
must be based on their individual needs. Our experience has found
that what works for one person may not be the right path for everyone.
Most importantly, we believe that recovery is not a life long
process. Addicts should be able to enter an alcohol and drug rehabs,
get the therapy that they need through individual and group counseling
to seek out the underlying issues that are behind their addiction,
work through them and come out a healthy person. A person who
is FREED from their addiction, rather than tied down to it with
daily sponsor check-ins and 12-Step meetings for the rest of their
lives. We want our clients to go THROUGH recovery with a beginning,
middle and most importantly, an end. An end of recovery is the
beginning of a new, happy, successful life.
Our Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program provides
and utilizes the latest and most innovative recovery tools along
with psychological counseling, medications (as necessary), and
most importantly a loving "family" of staff members
who can recognize and bring out each client's inherent goodness
while setting positive, loving limits on their behaviors. |

MEDICALLY-MANAGED DETOX
Being addicted to any substance whether it is alcohol, a street
drug or pharmaceutical medications is a serious condition that
can be fatal if not treated. Thinking about entering an alcohol
or drug detox center can be frightening. Given the severity of
some withdrawal symptoms, most are not able to tolerate the drug
or alcohol detox process on their own. There is hope.
Our drug and alcohol detox program is designed to make you as
safe and comfortable as possible throughout the entire process.
In some cases medication will be given during the alcohol or drug
detox period.
ALCOHOL DETOX OR WITHDRAWAL
The alcohol detox process is generally five to seven days in duration.
Alcohol withdrawal symptoms can be characterized by hallucinations,
seizures, night sweats, nausea and vomiting, tremors or shakes,
agitation, and increased blood pressure. All of these alcohol withdrawal
symptoms can be managed with the proper medication, rest and diet.
MANAGING DRUG WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS
Withdrawal symptoms vary depending on the drug being abused. Some
classic withdrawal symptoms are insomnia, fatigue, chills, anxiety,
nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pains. In some cases
these symptoms can be as severe as hallucinations, seizures and
drug induced psychosis. These symptoms can also be managed with
proper medications, rest and diet.
The length of the detox period can also vary from
one substance to the next. Most lasting somewhere between three
and seven days. The main exception would be opiates (heroin, Vicodin,
Oxycontin, Methadone, etc.). Opiate withdrawal symptoms usually
continue longer depending on the daily amount used and how long
the person has been dependent on opiates.
OUR MISSION
To create a stable, nurturing environment, which is conducive to,
not only allowing each client to develop healthy, happy, substance
free lives, but also to assist them in acquiring the skills to achieve
sobriety and successfully maintain it.
